Since my job doesn’t start for another two weeks I have plenty of free time to spare, a lot of that time is spent physically abusing myself, some is spent doing nothing and some is spent other ways…
This morning I decided to give log presses a whirl for the first time in over a year, maybe not the best idea since I had to bench tonight and prepare for a March meet, but quite frankly, I don’t care…
I have no idea what the log weighs, I think between 90-100#…
Log Press
Log x 10
140 x 3
180 x 3
210 x 3
240 x 3 x 1
Yea, I lost a lot of technique on these and I really miss strongman work.
PM session was bench. My triceps were already prefatigued so I sure as hell didn’t expect any world shaking lifts tonight.
Bench
165 x 2
231 x 2
285 x 2
341 x 1
385 x 1
420 x 1
The 420 this week felt like hell, I attribute that to the earlier log pressing.
One of my training partners got a slingshot so I had to try it out. Needless to say I will be buying one soon.
Slingshot Bench
430 x 1
450 x 1
475 x 1
450 x 2
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, sure its a manufactured holiday but at least do something nice…. If your girl/guy is far away, make sure they get something special, send a card, send flowers, hell write a card up for them and take a picture and give it to them later. Let them know how much they mean to you, let them know even if you are 100, 200, 500 or even 2000 miles away, they are your world.
