Last week and this week has been among the two most tumultuous weeks of my entire life. If anyone thinks they can manage extreme stress effectively, let me tell you first hand you are wrong.
It wears you down, you can’t eat, can’t sleep right even if you are tired and motivation to lift is shot.
So I took the whole week off last week, especially after coming down with a fever Monday night into Tuesday that left me taking my first official sick day at work in over 9 years.
I fully expected today’s workout to be amazingly subpar, but a week out of the gym is enough time away to force me back to the bar.
I am stripping down my volume for a bit, going to 4 days a week instead of 5 and going back to 5/3/1 for a bit until I get myself back to a manageable level of stress control. It takes time and although I am a strong man mentally, there are days when it gets the best of me…
The iron is therapeutic in a way, I just have to let it work for me.
Working weights are low because I want to focus on rebuilding my form issues and my pulling confidence again.
315 x 5
370 x 5
420 x 8
Had more in me but stopped short
255 x 2 x 10
365 x 4 x 15
Reverse Grip Bent Over Row
275 x 4 x 7
Not the best of workouts by any means, in fact it was pretty crappy. One of my worst in recent memory, but I got it done. That is half the battle.
Onward and upward taking one step at a time back to my promised land.
