Scott: Hey! Can I ask you some questions and feature you as one of our new members?
Mitzi: Sure. Shoot
Scott: You joined July 25. How old are you?
Mitzi: 59
Scott: What brought you here to check us out? What made you decide to join?
Mitzi: They weren’t enforcing masks at my then-current gym.
Scott: Oh yeah! I remember now! We talked about that! How do you describe what you do for a living?
Mitzi: Sales
Scott: For you, what would you say is the best thing about getting stronger?
Mitzi: Stronger physically, stronger mentally.
Scott: I love it. Would you care to elaborate? What have you observed, specifically, about this?
Mitzi: I don’t get paid unless I sell. I have to be in a proper mindset for that. Staying strong and healthy, directly correlates to my income.
Scott: I love that. That was my experience when I was in sales back in the day. That healthy mindset directly correlates to a better income!
Mitzi: Also, as a single female and homeowner, there’s no one else around here to pick up any slack. So I have to take care of myself to keep up the house, the yard, and the two cats and a dog.
Scott: You’re a badass
Mitzi: LOL
Scott: What would you say is your favorite thing about our gym?
Mitzi: Even though there are huge tattooed guys and gun-slinging women in there picking up more weight than my mom’s old VW beetle, I never feel out of place or intimidated. It feels like I’m appreciated for what I am, an old lady who wants to not look like an old lady.
Scott: You are appreciated! OK, just a couple of more questions.
Mitzi: No worries
Scott: What’s your favorite thing to do outside of KCBB? How do you like to spend your time?
Mitzi: I shoot trap, play racquet sports, fish, read, sew, dig live music, and indulge in an occasional cigar (my only bad non-habit.) I was talking with Sean the other day. I think my 60th birthday goal is to do the farmer’s walk with my body weight. I have eight weeks to improve by 40-50 lbs. I think that’s doable.
Scott: Oh hell yes! Kansas, K-State, or Missouri?
Mitzi: Kansas
Scott: If you had a giant billboard and could get any single message out to the world, what would that message be?
Mitzi: Share Your Toys
Scott: I love it. Are you ready for your last question?
Mitzi: Yep
Scott: What is the meaning of life?
Mitzi: OMG. That’s hilarious. I don’t know, but if there’s a god, I’ll meditate once in a while and be kind to my neighbors and animals. In case there is no god, I’m going to have a little fun.
Scott: I like the way you think, Mitzi. As always, it’s been an absolute joy talking to you.
Mitzi: Thanks for asking. I hope it’s useful.
Scott: Heck yeah it will be useful. Thanks again!
